Who we are
SEAL – an acronym for SIL Engineering and Atex Laboratory – was founded with the goal of providing testing and consulting services to third parties in Italy and across Europe in the field of gas detection.
The principles of Functional Safety (SIL Engineering) are becoming increasingly important in the design of electronic devices. These requirements are specified in various standards for gas detection, for industrial safety applications, and, more recently, in the Refrigeration and Hydrogen detection sectors.

Consulting and Testing for Gas Detection
There are very few laboratories in Europe currently offering this type of consulting service in the field of gas detection.
The Atex Laboratory within SEAL was created to support End Users and certification bodies operating throughout Europe in the gas detection market.
Moreover, regarding compliance testing for gas detection standards, the involved certification bodies specialize in the performance requirements defined by European standards such as:
- EN 50104 (Oxygen detection)
- EN 50291 (Domestic Carbon Monoxide detection)
- IEC 62990-1
- EN 60079-29-1 and ISO 26142 (Hydrogen detection)
- EN 50676 e EN14624 in Europe (Refrigerant Gas detection)
- International standards such as IEC 60079-29-0 and ISO 26142 (Hydrogen detection).
FunctionalSafety
Consulting in electronic design according to SIL principles, with testing and test reports compliant with major European and international standards.
ATEXLaboratory
Product testing and performance testing for gas detection, carried out according to ISO 17025 and under the supervision of certification bodies.
ApplicationSectors
Technical support in the areas of Security/Safety, Refrigeration, Hydrogen, off-gas, and biogas, with solutions that meet specific regulatory requirements.
European
n Reference Point
A single point of access to the requirements of the European gas detection market, supporting End Users and certification bodies.
Test the Performance of Your Sensors with SEAL
SEAL was created to support instrument manufacturers and certification bodies by providing a single gateway to the requirements of the European gas detection market.
SEAL specializes in offering testing and test certificates under the supervision of certification bodies (e.g., CESI, TÜV Süd, BV, etc.), in accordance with the ISO 17025 quality standard and performance standards for gas detection in the Security/Safety, Refrigeration, Hydrogen, and Off-Gas sectors, following both European and International Standards.
